Story «

Sharon and Gary Lessing nurtured their love of wine by visiting Napa Valley since they met more than 30 years ago. “We loved everything about it: the scenery, food, wine and especially the people, including many vintners who were personalizing an agricultural product by bringing valuable individual expressions to their wines.” Early on, the Lessings embarked on a hobby winemaking endeavor from a prior home vineyard. Their hearts were captured when they first set foot on the CourAvant estate, where they realized the discovery of a special place where they could spend time and enjoy a retreat from their hectic Bay Area lifestyle. “We want it to be a place where new and old friends gather to reflect and recharge their body and soul within the property’s beauty and tranquility.”

Sharon, whose early career was in the semiconductor industry, holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Her passion for pursuing social justice and helping those less fortunate has led her to serve in many philanthropic and community activities.

Gary is a native Californian who has been a driven entrepreneur throughout his career. He currently serves as CEO of a leading sales and marketing agency based in Silicon Valley specializing in products geared to the technology, data communication, industrial and electrical markets.

The Lessing’s two grown children who, while leading their individual lives, are also staying active in the development and distribution of CourAvant Estate wines.
